I came to Gross Lab with a background in rural medicine and a strong dedication to advocate for public awareness of alcohol intolerance, particularly within the Taiwanese and broader Asian populations. Inspired by Dr. Che-Hong Chen in 2017, I developed a keen interest in the role of ALDH2 mutations in alcohol metabolism and their significant public health implications. During my research gap year before residency, I would be focused on advancing education and outreach regarding alcohol intolerance as a critical health issue. Additionally, I am exploring the clinical applications of Selected Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometry (SIFT-MS) in the medical field.
